Australian Defence staffer awarded gold commendation

AUSTRALIA/DEFENCE

One of the Australian Defence Staff’s longest serving employees at the High Commission in London has been awarded a Chief of Air Force gold commendation.

The award is one of the highest recognitions bestowed by the Royal Australian Air Force, acknowledging the exceptional contribution and dedication of Emma Elliott.

The commendation described Ms Elliott’s superior judgement, organisation and people-focused engagement skills directly enhancing both Air Force engagement and capability, and the reputation of the ADF in the United Kingdom.

Ms Elliott has been the executive assistant to all of Australia’s air advisers for the past 17 years.

“I am truly humbled to receive this recognition. It has been an honour to support the Royal Australian Air Force, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to its mission,” she said.

“This commendation is a testament to the collective efforts of those I have worked alongside, and I share this recognition with them.”

She was presented with the award by the Head of Australian Defence Staff, London, Air Commodore Matthew Harper, and the current air adviser in London, Group Captain Scott Woodland, at a military recall at the Churchill War Rooms in London.

Air Commodore Harper praised Ms Elliott.

“Emma’s dedication and unwavering support have been instrumental in strengthening our partnerships and operations,” he said.

“This commendation is a well-deserved recognition of her professionalism, leadership and invaluable contributions to the Royal Australian Air Force.”
