A section of Whangaroa Road near Kāeo will be reduced to one lane for about six weeks from tomorrow (Tuesday 12 March) while contractors build a new box culvert, the Far North District Council has announced.
The Council says temporary speed limits will be in place while the work is carried out between 121 and 320 Whangaroa Road, including stop/go traffic controls. Traffic lights will be in place during the night.
Construction will be carried out Monday to Friday between 6am and 6pm, with the possibility of Saturday work between 7am and 1pm.
Works also include site clearance, earthworks, drainage, and road reinstatement and are due for completion in mid-April, subject to weather conditions. Motorists are asked to drive safely and follow the directions of the crews on site.
