Downer New Zealand has come to the rescue of the NZ Police Fleet Service Group, supplying 20 Toyota HiLux 4x4s from their own fleet to Police disaster response efforts in Tairaehiti and Hawkes Bay.
The first four vehicles were dispatched to Police crews following a speedy specialist fit out by agents Wade Group.
Downer also arranged for some of the utes to be fully trackable via satellite where no cellular range is available. Others will also have 200lt fuel cells installed for emergency refuelling.
