The Ministry for the Environment is seeking organisations to design, develop and deliver behaviour change programmes that reduce food waste.
This is an opportunity for organisations to express interest in working with us to reduce the amount of food that is lost between farm and fork each year, the Ministry said in a statement today.
Reducing organic waste is a key action in Aotearoa New Zealand’s first emissions reduction plan.
The programmes will seek to reduce food waste in three settings: households; Māori-led settings (such as marae, kōhango reo, kura kaupapa, papakāinga); and businesses.
The call for expressions of interest opened today and will close at midnight on 4 December.
