Let’s build on the progress: Advancing Mana Taurite | Equity in Health

Kia Hiwa Ra! Kia Hiwa Ra!

This year marks the 5th year of this crucial annual gathering, which has established itself as an important forum for driving positive change in Aotearoa’s health landscape. Building on the progress achieved through previous events, in 2024, the theme of the event is: Tackling the determinants to improve health and wellbeing. As well as looking at effective health services, this year we are focused on identifying opportunities for collaboration to tackle the intersectoral drivers of poor health outcomes such as social and economic issues. We are also keen to spotlight ideas and initiatives that support the system to deliver key Government targets. This includes sessions on social investment approaches that provide a mechanism to invest in making changes that can allow better health, social and economic outcomes for all.

Brightstar is delighted to continue to honour the practice of mana taurite and deliver the conference in association with the leadership of Sharon Shea MNZM (Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Hauā, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Hako) of Shea, Pita & Associates. The kaupapa remains to provide guidance on the “how” rather than the “why” and the event will showcase proven strategies, effective practice and practical programmes from across a range of sectors that have demonstrated success.
