Far North District Council is seeking community input as it works to re-establish an Accessibility Action Group to provide insights and advice about how to improve its disability service operations.
Council wants to hear from you if you have experience with accessibility barriers, mobility challenges, neurodiversity, sensory impairments, chronic health conditions, caregiving, advocacy, or community support work.
“Unique insights gained from this experience can help to identify barriers and support effective, practical change across the district,” the Council said in a statement.
“You do not need formal qualifications to be a part of the group.”
Council says a wide range of perspectives is welcome, including from:
- disabled people and tāngata whaikaha
- older adults
- whānau and caregivers
- accessibility advocates
- community organisations
- anyone with experience of barriers in the Far North.
