Investigation underway into Police collision with pedestrian

An investigation is underway following a collision between a Police vehicle and a pedestrian near the intersection of Anzac Parade and Victoria Street, Hamilton, this afternoon.

At around 3.15pm, a Police vehicle left the station on Anzac Parade with lights and siren activated heading to an urgent incident, Police said in a statement.

“The collision happened shortly afterward. We are working to establish the exact circumstances of what has occurred,” Police said.

“We will be providing support to the pedestrian and their family, as well as our staff involved.”

The IPCA will also be notified. 

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to come forward and speak to Police.
