Te HautÅ« Kahurangi | Tertiary Education Union has confirmed that members at New Zealand’s eight universities will take strike action tomorrow.
Last week, 87% of TEU members who participated in strike ballots, across 18 collective agreements, voted to strike.
The 7000-member strong union is demanding an 8% pay rise needed to keep up with the cost of living.
The union said members at Auckland University of Technology will refuse to enter students’ marks from 6 to 21 October.
The action also includes full stoppage between 1pm – 5pm at University of Auckland and University of Waikato; 12pm – 4:30pm at Victoria University of Wellington.
