Local Government NZ (LGNZ) member councils have voted in a new President, with Selwyn District Council Mayor, Sam Broughton, to lead the advocacy body.
At the organisation’s AGM in Christchurch, councils also elected a new Vice President, with Hutt City Council Mayor, Campbell Barry (pictured, right), to take on the role.
Mr Broughton (pictured, left) has been elected for a three-year term.
“I’d like to acknowledge Stuart Crosby who retired after serving LGNZ as President or the last three years,” he said.
“We thank him for his leadership during a politically charged and disruptive time in local government’s history.”
