Waikato District Council has announced the appointment of Tracy Jones to the Huntly Community Board.
Ms Jones said she was looking forward to being involved in the board’s decision-making process and advocating for the community.
The position became vacant following the resignation of the board’s deputy chair. A by-election was held, with the results announced in December.
The role of the board is to represent the community’s views to Council.
The board also voted to elect Eden Wawatai as the new deputy chair. Ms Wawatai has served on the community board for two terms.
The next Huntly Community Board meeting will be held on Tuesday 8 April.
