Northland Regional Council Chair, Tui Shortland, has tendered her resignation after just one year in the job.
Ms Shortland, a first-time councillor in 2022, was elected to the role of chairperson in October last year, after being elected from the region-wide Māori constituency Te Raki Māori Constituency.
Her resignation will be effective from next Tuesday’s council meeting. She will remain on the council.
