Two hundred contractors, consultants, and local authority staff working across erosion and sediment control are expected to attend a free hands-on day for the earthworks industry to be held at Whangārei’s Barge Showgrounds on Wednesday 16 September.
The first of its kind event – which will run from will run from 9am to 3pm – is a collaboration between Northland Regional Council, the region’s three district councils, the International Erosion Control Association and Civil Contractors New Zealand.
The event is built on an ‘education before enforcement’ approach, helping lift capability across the region through shared learning, practical demonstrations, and real-world insights.
The day will include short, practical presentations, live product demonstrations, real-world examples and lessons learned as well as opportunities to connect with councils and industry.
