One person has been seriously injured and two people have been arrested after a crash on Queen Street, Auckland City, early this morning.
Police were called to the scene, between City Road and Karangahape Road, about 6am after reports of a vehicle colliding with three pedestrians.
“One has reportedly been seriously injured, while the others have sustained minor injuries,” said Tāmaki Makaurau Deployment Inspector Nick Poland.
Police say the driver fled the scene on foot.
“Two people were located nearby a short time later and taken into custody. Charges are being considered,” said Insp Poland.
“Cordons are in place and the Serious Crash Unit is examining the scene. Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the crash and who witnessed what unfolded.”
