Hundreds have turned out to farewell Jacinda Ardern in her final hours as New Zealand Prime Minister.
Members of the public joined Labour MPs and Parliament staffers outside Parliament House this morning, with the crowd erupting in cheers when Ms Ardern emerged from the front doors of the building.
The departing PM is on her way across the city to Government House, where she will formally resign as the nation’s leader, and witness the swearing in of her replacement, Chris Hipkins.
