Police say they will continue to have a significant visible presence in Tairāwhiti following the recent shooting death of 25-year-old mother of one, Chephar Hollis-Brown.

Police have been conducting community reassurance patrols, as well as undertaking investigation enquiries in the area since the 3 July suspected homicide.

“Police are still keen to hear from anyone who can provide information to assist the investigation team regarding this senseless shooting.

“We are committed to holding those responsible to account and the public can expect us to remain highly visible in the area.”
