Kevin Ross has been appointed as the new Chief Executive role at Rangitīkei District Council, following the resignation of Peter Beggs in May.
In a statement, the Council said Mr Ross has been appointed for up to two years to enable Council to “take time to understand what the future of Local Government will be and the outcome of the Resource Management Act and Three Waters reforms”.
Mr Ross, who has been interim CEO since Mr Beggs departure, was previously Chief Executive of Whanganui District Council and has held various board and management roles.
“He comes with a vast amount of local government experience,” said Mayor, Andy Watson.
“Kevin initially came to us to undertake the role of Interim Chief Executive and has made a positive impact during that period. We are very pleased to appoint him permanently to continue the great work he has been doing.”
