Registration opens for 2024 Gallipoli services

New Zealanders wishing to attend Anzac Day services in Gallipoli, Türkiye, are now invited to register to receive their attendance pass for the 2024 commemorations.

Next year will be the 109th anniversary of the start of the 1915 Gallipoli campaign in which more than 8,000 New Zealanders served.

New Zealand lead for the commemorations, John McLeod says anyone who wants to be part of next year’s services is encouraged to register online to secure an attendance pass.

“Passes are free of charge. It is essential that anyone who is considering attending registers online to secure their spot,” Mr McLeod said.

The New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) will be leading The Dawn Service at the Anzac Commemorative Site Gallipoli, and a late-morning New Zealand service at Chunuk Bair on 25 April 2024.

Anyone considering attending services in Gallipoli can visit the commemorations booking page on the Anzac Day Services ticketing website for more information.

For those who are unable to attend the international services, a livestream feed will be available for media outlets, and the New Zealand Chunuk Bair commemoration will be broadcast live on the NZDF Facebook page.

Those planning to travel to the services are encouraged to register their travel plans via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s SafeTravel website. The site also provides up-to-date travel advice. Travellers are also advised to ensure they are aware of requirements for entering Türkiye.
