Rotorua Lakes Council’s inner city security patrols will continue throughout the Christmas/New Year holiday period.
In a statement, Council said security patrols would operate seven days a week between 8am and 10pm.
“A roving car patrol will also be operating during these hours. Security cameras located throughout the inner city will also be monitored seven days a week, particularly during peak time periods,” Council said.
It said all staff on the ground – guardians and security firm staff – would have direct communication links with staff monitoring the inner city CCTV network and with police, to address any issues that arise.
“Council continues to work closely with Police who are also operating patrols during the summer period.”
Anti-social, suspicious and criminal behaviour should continue to be reported to Police by calling 111. Police can also be contacted about non urgent matters by calling 105.
