Taupō resealing works right on time

Taupō’s Tongariro Street is almost back in business following resealing efforts by Taupō District Council.

“The safety barriers are being removed, the cobbles are going down, and we’ll soon be opening up Tongariro Street again,” Council said in a statement.

“But before we hit that milestone, our crew will be laying a brand new seal on Tongariro Street from Spa Road to te Heu Heu Street.

“We will also be line marking the street and to minimise disruption this work will be carried out overnight, over several nights, from Sunday 28 November through to Thursday 2 December.”

Local residents have been asked to remove their vehicles from that section of Tongariro Street no later than 5pm today to allow the nightly resealing works.

“Once this piece of work is done we just have some tidying up work to do and then this phase of our Taupō Town Centre Transformation project is complete and ready for summer,” Council said.
