Tenant sought for historic Masterton hall

Masterton District Council is seeking proposals from businesses, organisations, and groups from within the community to lease the district’s historic Coronation Hall.

Coronation Hall, an iconic and beloved venue, is nestled within the award-winning Queen Elizabeth Park, and Council says it is looking forward to seeing it flourish via a new tenant.

“It has previously been set up as a cafe, the commercial kitchen assets are no longer present but could be reinstated at the tenant’s expense. The Hall is subject to BWOF conditions, including Fire Systems and Ventilation,” Council said in a statement.

“We are open to other types of use but must be mindful of it being situated within a heritage park precinct, and complying with any restrictions the park management plan has in place.”

Its future use must also fit with the Council’s strategic community objectives.

Coronation Hall has an external covered verandah on three sides, two open spaces inside, a bar with a refrigeration area, public and staff toilet facilities, a kitchen area, a rear office, and storage areas.
