Chatham Islands Council has announced voting is now open to fill an extraordinary vacancy for a councillor position.
The candidates for the by-election are:
- Jack Daymond
- Alfie Johanson
- Loretta Lanauze
- Georgia Murchie
- Wigs Wairua
As the number of candidates exceeds the number of vacancies, a voting process is required and will be conducted by postal voting using the First Past the Post (FPP) electoral system, the Council said in a statement.
Voting is open until midday on Friday 18 September.
