Water restrictions ease for Napier, Hastings

All areas of Napier and Hastings have now moved to Level 1 water restrictions, which calls for voluntary action to conserve water, Napier City Council has confirmed.

Under the restrictions, outdoor water use, such as garden watering and car washing, is permitted.

“The shift reflects a seasonal change in demand, with cooler temperatures and recent rainfall reducing pressure on water supplies,” the Council said.

“We would like to thank the community for their efforts over the summer in following water restrictions and helping to conserve this vital resource during the hotter months.

“While restrictions have eased, residents are still encouraged to use water wisely and continue conserving where possible.”
