Western Bay of Plenty District Council has acknowledged the passing of former Chief Executive, Glenn Snelgrove.
Mr Snelgrove (pictured) was Council’s first Chief Executive, serving from its inception in 1989 through to 2014.
“Across 25 years, he helped shape not only the organisation we know today, but also the wider Western Bay and the communities we serve,” the Council said in a statement.
“For many of our longer-serving staff, Glenn was a colleague, leader and familiar face, and they will have their own memories of his leadership, personality, commitment and contribution to the district.”
After stepping away as Chief Executive, Mr Snelgrove maintained a strong connection with the Western Bay. More recently, he had been working alongside Gary Allis on the Thunder Ridge project.
“His contribution to our Council and our district spanned generations, and his legacy will remain part of the Western Bay for years to come.”
“Our thoughts are with Glenn’s whānau, friends, former colleagues and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him,” Council stated.
