The 2025 ALGIM Awards are for projects, teams and individuals that demonstrate excellence in local government and their community. The awards are open to any council, or council-controlled organisation (CCO) in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The 2025 ALGIM awards recognise local government:
- teams who work well to achieve the best outcomes
- individuals who demonstrate the best leadership and practices
- councils who embrace and leverage technologies to their advantage, for example to operate more effectively and efficiently to provide a great customer experience.
Last year, we had over 40 entries in our Project of the Year category alone, and we know a well-crafted submission is key to standing out. A great project, team or individual alone isn’t enough, winning entries are those that tell a compelling story and clearly demonstrate impact.
The awards evening will be held on Wednesday 26 November at the Tākina Conference Centre in Wellington during the ALGIM conference.

Our roots are in ICT, but over the years we’ve expanded to encompass the traditional IT roles, IT infrastructure, web and digital, information and records management, customer service, and GIS.
