Far North District Council has launched a new ‘What’s on’ webpage to help residents and visitors find out about Council events anywhere in the Far North via one easy-to-use page.
The webpage has launched with 37 regular library events listed across six libraries. They include after-school favourites such as Minecraft, Lego, robotics, STEAM and Crafternoons, alongside storytime sessions and Kanikani Kids for younger tamariki and their caregivers. There are also activities for adults and older residents, including book chats, genealogy, knitting and crochet, sewing, paper crafting, Scrabble, gardening talks, seed swaps and tech help sessions.
The events page makes it easy to search for events by interest, location or date using dynamic filtering, and calendar and map views, Council said in a statement.
“Library events are just the start. More council events will be added over the coming weeks, including consultation sessions, meetings and other activities,” it stated.
Organisers of community events not directly associated with the council though funding or other support are encouraged to list their events on the Northland NZ events page https://www.northlandnz.com/list-your-business-or-event/.
