Two Heretaunga Hastings community events have been recognised in this year’s NZ Events
Association Awards.
The annual Taste Hastings event (pictured), where Heretaunga St is transformed for a food and wine celebration party, is a finalist in the Best Food, Beverage and Lifestyle, and best Local Government Event categories.
And, the one-off 150th commemoration of Hastings township, held over a weekend in July last year, has been named as a finalist in the Best Community or Not-For-Profit Event (over 3,000 participants).
“There’s more than 30 events in the running for the people’s choice award, and Hawke’s Bay people are invited to help these exciting events make a splash on the national stage by voting for their favourite,” Hastings District Council said in a statement.
